  1. How will my valuables be transported safely from my home to Daniel's Jewelers?

    Your first step is to fill out our Daniel's Jewelers online registration form, under "New Customer? Let's Get Started". Choose how you want to send us your jewelry: whether you want to print your free FedEx® insured shipping label immediately, or have us mail you a free FedEx® insured shipping packet.  Either way, you will immediately be assigned your unique transaction number and FedEx® tracking number, and you'll receive an email confirmation. If you need help with filling out the online form, please call us for assistance at 1-866-958-7664.

    If you printed your label online, carefully pack your items and enclose a print-out of your email confirmation, in a sturdy, sealable padded shipping envelope or box, and affix your FedEx® label.  If you had your shipping packet mailed to you, follow the instructions provided with the packet.

    When your package is ready to go, hand it to a FedEx® driver, or drop it off at any FedEx® location.  You can find your nearest FedEx® location by clicking
    HERE, or by calling 1-800-GO-FEDEX.

  2. How much will it cost me to ship my items to Daniel's Jewelers?

    Absolutely nothing. Your FedEx® shipping label or Daniel's Jewelers Shipping Packet come at no cost to you - that's right, Free with our compliments. It's good for up to 10 days, and you are under no obligation to use it. Also, if you do send us your items and request payment by check, but then change your mind within 10 days, we will return them to you, free of charge.

  3. May I send my items by mail or using a private carrier other than FedEx®?

    We only accept items shipped by customers who have pre-registered with us online or over the phone, and have been assigned a unique transaction and barcode number. If you want to ship your items by your own method, please email us at SellGold@Online.DanielsJewelers.com, or call us at 1-866-958-7664, and request a Daniel's Jewelers "Sell My Gold" Kit without a FedEx® label. That way your shipment will still be identifiable by the barcode we assign to your kit. Then ship it to us, using your preferred method (make sure to include adequate insurance). After we receive and process your items, we'll reimburse your shipping cost (up to $10) by adding it to your payment. Ship it to:

    Yes, we do buy gold from our Canadian customers.  Please email us at SellGold@online.DanielsJewelers.com, or call us at 1-866-958-7664, and request a Daniel's Jewelers "Sell My Gold" Kit without a FedEx® label. That way your shipment will still be identifiable by the barcode we assign to your kit. Then ship it to us, using your preferred method (make sure to include adequate insurance).  After we receive and process your items, we'll reimburse your shipping cost (up to US$10) by adding it to your payment. Ship it to:

  5. How much material can I send?

    We will buy as much gold, silver or platinum as you wish to sell. The more you send, the more per ounce we will pay. No matter what you choose to sell, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to get it to us. If you believe that the total value of your items is more than $300, or if your shipment is large or bulky, please email us at 
    SellGold@online.DanielsJewelers.com, or call us at 1-866-958-7664, to discuss special shipping arrangements and other considerations. You may have to prepay the shipping fee and insurance, in which case we will add the amount to your payment.

    We are Patriot Act compliant - please be aware that certain transactions may be subject to specific Federal reporting and recordkeeping requirements.

  6. What about insurance… what if my shipment gets damaged or lost in transit?

    Your prepaid FedEx® shipping label is insured for $300 at our expense. If your believe the total value of your items is more than $300, please email us at 
    SellGold@Online.DanielsJewelers.com, or call us at 1-866-958-7664, to arrange for more insurance for your shipment.

    Our customers' packages arrive safely and on time 99% of the time. In rare instances, however, packages do get delayed, damaged, or even lost while in transit. That's what insurance is for - of course it is rarely needed, but it's important to have in case something goes wrong. We have many years of experience dealing with insurance claims for jewelry shipments, and we have found FedEx® to be the finest courier out there in terms of its claim-handling service and insurance settlements. Please be aware that Daniel's Jewelers - Refinement Services LLC cannot be responsible or liable for any packages delayed, damaged, or lost while in transit to our facility - but by using FedEx® we can assure you that your shipment will be in excellent hands. In the rare event that we do not receive your package, you may be asked to file an affidavit or send us a copy of a police report.

  7. How will I know when my package has safely arrived at Daniel's Jewelers?

    As soon as your package arrives, we will send you an email alert.

    The initial unpacking, weighing and testing of your gold will be documented by video webcam. You will observe your package - your own package! - in the skilled hands of our knowledgeable, experienced Daniel's Jewelers staff, and be able to watch us remove everything you packed. It's almost as if you traveled to Daniel's Jewelers and delivered your items in person - but without leaving the comfort of your home or office, or having to pay for a plane ticket!

  8. How much will Daniel's Jewelers pay me for my items?

    We use Three Critical Factors to determine the value of your items:

      *  The purity (karat value or percentage) of the precious metals;
      *  The weight of the item(s) - excluding any stones, pearls, etc;
      *  The market price of each type of precious metal on the day of settlement, based on that afternoon's London Fix (or the latest posted afternoon London Fix).

    Every package we receive is as unique as its owner, and the higher the overall precious-metal content, the higher the settlement. Ounce for ounce, the more you send, the more we will reward you.

    Furthermore, every Daniel's Jewelers customer receives - not only an extraordinary price for their gold, platinum, and/or silver - but also a free Daniel's Jewelers Gift Card worth $50.00.

  9. What if my jewelry contains diamonds, other gemstones, or pearls?

    For jewelry in which any single diamond weighs one quarter carat or more, our diamond appraisers will add a fair-market-value diamond quote to your precious-metal price quote. The value of any diamonds under one quarter carat, and/or other precious stones, will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

  10. How quickly, and by what method, will Daniel's Jewelers pay me?

    We offer you a choice of the following payment methods when you initially register:

      *  Company check sent by First Class Mail (with 10-day window to change your mind) - Free;
      *  Company check sent by overnight courier (with 10-day window to change your mind) - $15;
      *  Electronic deposit to your PayPal account - PayPal may deduct a fee;

    If you choose to be paid by PayPal your items will be melted down immediately. We will no longer be able to return them to you.

  11. If I chose to be paid by check, can I find out how much Daniel's Jewelers will pay me before I receive it?

    As soon as your payment amount is determined, we will email you with the result - regardless of your choice of payment method. You are encouraged to log on to our site, and review your detailed Daniel's Jewelers Settlement Report. You may also email us at

  12. What if I receive my check but am not satisfied with the payment amount?

    You will have 10 days from the check issue date, to notify us that you wish to decline the settlement and mail back the un-cashed check. You must notify us, and your envelope must be postmarked, up to 11:59 PM on the 10th day (the check issue date being day #1). Either email us at 
    SellGold@Online.DanielsJewelers.com, or call us at 1-866-958-7664. If we do not hear from you by that time, then on day #11 your transaction will be closed, and your unwanted items will be melted down and can no longer be returned to you. As long as you notify us in time, we will set your items aside and return them at our expense, insured for the amount of the check, within two weeks of receiving your un-cashed check.

     

    Within the 10 days, if your check is cashed/deposited, we will consider your payment as accepted and your transaction as closed, and your jewelry will be no longer returnable.

  13. How do I redeem my free Gift Card?

    Your free Daniel's Jewelers Gift Card can be redeemed, in whole or in part, by visiting any of our 56 Southern California locations, or - online, by phone, or by mail. Sorry, but Gift Cards cannot be applied to pre-existing orders.

  14. How can Daniel's Jewelers assure the safety and security of my valuables?

    We take security extremely seriously, and assume full responsibility for your valuables while they are on our premises. Our entire facility and its contents are insured by Lloyd's of London. All deliveries are monitored using multiple surveillance cameras, and are immediately logged into our system. The initial unpacking, weighing and testing of your items are documented by video webcam. Via video, you will observe your package - your own package! - in the skilled hands of our knowledgeable, experienced Daniel's Jewelers staff, and you'll be able to watch us remove everything you packed.

    Your peace of mind is important to us, because you are entrusting us with your valuables, and you are counting on us to pay you what they are worth. We will never leave your items unattended when they are not stored in our vaults. They remain in the same building throughout the entire process… until you are paid.

    Every item is weighed twice upon arrival, and then weighed twice again after processing. Our employees are very carefully screened and trained, and must sign off on every transfer of your items, under the watchful eye of a supervisor. Our sophisticated system of checks and balances insures that nothing, no matter how small, ever falls through the cracks. Most importantly, we offer our customers the highest level of transparency in the industry, with cameras recording every critical step.
